Animus Titanium was born from the desire to reinterpret an important chapter in Passoni’s history through a contemporary lens. The AT-01 name has accompanied some of our most characteristic and experimental creations, and today it returns to represent a new milestone: our first aerodynamic frame. Rather than simply chasing speed, Animus Titanium seeks to express an idea of performance rooted in identity and craftsmanship. It is a frame designed to move forward while remaining deeply connected to who we are, bridging past knowledge and future ambition with coherence and respect.
The design philosophy behind Animus Titanium draws directly from two of our most significant frames: the Mito and the XXTi. Both models embodied the desire to combine the unique feel of titanium with the possibilities offered by advanced composite materials. AT-01 takes this lineage and refines it further, introducing a new balance between form and function. The lower triangle, crafted entirely in titanium, ensures precision, sensitivity and long-lasting durability. The upper triangle, made of high-modulus monocoque carbon, offers reduced weight and a distinctly aerodynamic profile. The result is a frame conceived as a continuous dialogue between tradition and innovation.
The construction process of Animus Titanium reflects over two years of development and prototyping, during which every element was studied, adjusted and tested to preserve the purity of the original concept sketches. Components such as the head tube and dropouts are made using grade 5 titanium and refined through both CNC machining and 3D-printing. However, unlike many projects where these elements are highlighted as visual focal points, our approach has been to integrate them seamlessly into the overall structure. Their shapes are organic and harmonious, reinforcing the frame’s identity without interrupting its visual flow.
Animus Titanium is offered in standard geometries, developed through years of fitting experience and rider feedback, but is also available in full custom sizing to ensure a perfect match with each cyclist’s proportions and riding style. Beyond performance, the essence of this frame lies in the feeling it conveys: reactive and precise, yet composed and comfortable even over long distances. It is designed for those who want to push their limits while maintaining a profound connection with the bicycle.
